NEWS RELEASE:NALC STATEMENT ON TRAGEDYSeptember 14, 2001, Chicago, Illinois – On behalf of the Members and staff of the National Alliance of Life Companies (NALC), we wish to express our deepest sympathy to the families and friends of those that were lost in the great tragedies in New York City, Pennsylvania and our Nation’s Capitol. Our prayers go out to the courageous volunteers and professionals who are working around the clock to save every precious life.We treasure every human life and pray that many more lives can be saved during the rescue efforts. These tragic losses are made even more difficult for the life insurance and financial services industries, as many of the losses of life and injuries have befallen our close friends in the center of the world’s financial district, including some of our Members. We all travel a great deal in our jobs and many of us have almost daily contact with flight personnel of the airlines and other passengers. Our condolences also go out to the families and friends of these heroic people. The NALC and its Members and staff are dedicated to helping ease the suffering of those involved in these tragic events by donating time and other resources. We also stand ready to assist the insurance departments and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners in any way possible. Most importantly, the NALC’s Members stand ready to help the families and the loved ones of our policyholders by promptly processing all claims payments. The National Alliance of Life Companies is a national trade organization with more than 250 life insurance company members. ### |
